BAFA Adult Contact Week 15

As we enter BAFA Adult Contact Week 15, this weekend presents a unique scenario with the Premiership taking a break due to the GB camp weekend – Blue vs White, leaving only two fixtures on the schedule. This "rain week" is being utilised to accommodate postponed games. With the Division 1 Wildcard Weekend planned for next week, teams are looking to gain momentum heading into the playoffs.

Division 1

NFC 1 - North

Humber Warhawks (1-6) vs Yorkshire Rams (5-2) – 2 pm

In Division 1, the Humber Warhawks will host the Yorkshire Rams in a game that could significantly impact the Rams' playoff seeding. Despite their strong record, Yorkshire faced a setback this week, being disciplined by BAFA for fielding an ineligible player, resulting in a 1-0 win being awarded to the Sheffield Giants. However, the Rams can secure the 4th seed in the playoffs if they win and don’t concede over 56 points. Even if they lose, they’d have to concede an unusually high number of points to drop significantly in seeding.

The Warhawks, on the other hand, have struggled since their Week 1 victory, enduring a six-game losing streak. Playing at home, they will be aiming to upset the Rams and end their season on a high note. Their previous encounter in Week 12 saw the Rams dominate with a 37-6 win at home. Yorkshire will be looking to send a strong message and secure their playoff position with a similar performance this weekend.

Division 2

NFC 2 - West

Staffordshire Surge (5-2) vs Lancashire Wolverines (2-4-1) – 2 pm

In Division 2, the Staffordshire Surge will face the Lancashire Wolverines in a matchup that won’t impact the division standings or playoff seedings. The Surge, currently on a two-game losing streak, are eager to regain their winning form before heading into their playoff game against Darlington Steam in two weeks. A strong performance here could provide a much-needed confidence boost.

The Wolverines have faced numerous challenges this season, both on and off the field. They will be looking to gain valuable experience and build some momentum as they head into the offseason. The last meeting between these teams in Week 7 resulted in a 42-6 victory for the Surge. Lancashire will be aiming for a better outcome this time as they seek to end their season on a positive note.
